Cruising Mykonos

Cine Manto 

Quite simply one of the most atmospheric outdoor cinemas in Europe. From June to early October, guests can sit under swaying palms in this enchanting courtyard and watch films on the outdoor screen. Comprising a delightful garden, bistro and bar, meals and drinks are served until late to tables in front of the open air cinema.

Kiki’s 

Located above Agios Sostis beach, this tiny tavern is a Mykonos institution. No electricity, no reservations, no website, no sign – just a beach shack and an open grill and patrons who travel miles every summer for its authentic Mykonian dishes. Expect chargrilled prawns, fresh fish, and crispy pork cutlets, fresh tomatoes and the best peppery olive oil on the island. Head to Kiki’s when it opens at midday to avoid the queue, the restaurant is only open for lunch.

Agios Sostis 

Incidentally, the beach which Kiki’s calls home is one of the most charming on the island so have a swim before heading up for lunch. As with quite a few beaches on the island, clothing is optional.

Spilia Seaside Restaurant 

As if hewn from the sea cave itself, Spilia is hidden away on Agia Anna Kalafatis beach. Visitors even have to traverse a wooden walkway hugging the cliffs to reach the restaurant. From its multi-level terraces, diners can enjoy sea views and the freshest seafood – the lobster and octopus is of particular note. Visiting boats can anchor in the bay and tender in to shore.

Fokos beach 

This horseshoe beach is off a beaten track in the north of the island and offers more seclusion and quiet than the popular party beaches to the south. One of the prettiest beaches on the island, it is easy to spend hours relaxing here. The beach’s bohemian Fokos Taverna serves lunches on its seafront terraces.

Panormos beach 

A fun hotspot with a lovely beach and good dining. Lounge on the day cushions and enjoy a cocktail at Principote Panormas beach club where the bohemian atmosphere, crocheted parasols and relaxed vibe suits the beautiful beach setting.
