Gender Pay Gap Report 2020

As per UK legislation that came into force in April 2017, employers with more than 250 employees are required to publish annually their gender pay gap information.  The gender pay gap shows the difference in average hourly pay between women and men.

The data below shows our mean and median hourly gender pay gap as at the snapshot date, 5th  April 2020.  At that time, we employed 450 people, of which 34 were women and 416 were men, however on the snapshot date 344 employees were furloughed due to COVID-19, which has influenced the data included within this report.

We are confident that men and women are paid equally for doing equivalent jobs across our business.  Our negative gender pay gap is because of the demographic of the industry in which Fairline operates, with 73% of our total workforce being male Boat Builders.

Declaration: I confirm that the information and data provided in this report is accurate and in line with the UK Government’s Equality Act 2010 (Gender Pay Gap Information) Regulations 2017.

Our culture, like everything at our company, is made possible by each employee’s contribution to create the environment we work in – and we are proud of the team we’re building.

We are committed to ensuring that our workplace is diverse and representative of our global customer base. At Fairline we respect the unique talents, experiences and viewpoints of all our employees. Different perspectives help us achieve our best work and enable our company to make positive changes.

Our success depends on securing the best talent. Gender balance in the workplace is an essential element enabling us to build the best team possible. The increasing complexity of our business demands that we have the right talent in the right place at the right time.

Research has proven that companies achieving gender balance, especially at leadership levels, yield more positive results. This issue matters to both men and women and is essential to the fulfilment of our company’s values.

Our commitment is embraced in all our policies and working practices. We aim to eliminate discrimination and unlawful practices through the integration of equality principles in the areas of employment, service commissioning, service provision and delivery.
